We’ve written about the new Canon imageFORMULA P-150 portable Mac document scanner twice in as many months now. First, as it was recently made Mac-comptible by Canon, with the manufacturers having seen the huge potential for the device with Soho (small office, home office) type, on-the-cloud users. Then, we reported on the announcement that the P150 document scanner had been awarded with a prestigious iF Design Award, for its sleek looks and innovative design. Now, Buyers Laboratory Inc (BLI), world-famous product testers and evaluators have announced the imageFORMULA P-150 document scanner has been awarded an ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ in the ‘Mobile Scanner’ Category in this year’s ‘Pick of the Year’. BLI were impressed by the device’s fast scanning speeds when connected via USB cable as well as its Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) holding up to 20 sheets, making this a neat high speed portable document scanner.

In order to facilitate the changing usage patterns of its imageFORMULA series of scanners, Canon, the world leader in imaging technology, has responded with an innovative solution, the imageFORMULA Flatbed Scanner Unit 101. The new flatbed document scanner is compatible with key Canon imageFORMULA devices via a USB connection and gives users the ability to scan-in irregular sized documents that wouldn’t be suitable for use with an automatic document feeder. With no frills ergonomic design and the very fastest precision scanning speeds incorporated, the new Unit 101 provides existing imageFORMULA machines with the added versatility they may require without any compromise on performance.

Before The Sunday Times has even announced the 2010 league table itself, Canon UK has been pleased to hear that it has climbed 22 positions in this year’s Sunday Times Best Green Companies, to an impressive tenth place. The company was also delighted to have come in third in the ‘bigger companies with a medium environmental impact’ category.

Many in the photocopier industry have been very excited this last few months by the release of two new Canon imageRUNNER Advance b/w office photocopiers, the iR-Adv 6000 and iR-Adv 8000, which have already been garlanded with awards from leading authorities such as On Demand in the US and complete the impressive imageRUNNER Advance series.
