Portman (Nationwide)

The Background

The Portman can trace its roots back to 1846, making it the third oldest building society in the UK. In the last 20 years a number of mergers have taken place bringing together strong regional societies. Today the Portman is the largest regional building society in the south of England with assets exceeding £9billion.

The Approach

During the third quarter of 2001, 650 Portman people moved into Portman House, a new purpose built Head Office in Bournemouth.

Portman required the majority of their staff to have access to 17 Canon ImageRunner 5000 printer/copiers in a secure, controlled manner while continuing to use their existing door entry / cashless vending cards.

The solution provided consisted of 17 FollowMe Printing units with a central FollowMe Q-Server.
