Omnium Gatherum are a systems integration firm that offers bespoke solutions to the constructiion industry. OGL Had a client that wanted to improve its tender procesing workflow. The client was receiving tenders, or requests for bid, in a paper format and wanted to be able to scan them into their SharePoint knowledge management system for more efficient processing. Additionaly the client needed to be able to share information with other parts of its supply chain, not only during the development of the tender response, but also during the construction process for the bids it won.

An eCOPY Software Developer Kit was used to develop a connector to their existing SharePoint Portal. eCopy ShareScan was installed on their existing Canon copier and eCopy desktop was installed on the user workstations to take advantage of the OCR capability.In addition to this the eCopy connector was integrated with a Microsoft server solution to ensure document security.

The tender response time has now been reduced by up to 80%, the whole process has become a lot more streamlined and virtually eliminated human erors.
